Data Protection
Effective from 19 Oct 2026 · version 2026-10-19
1. Who processes your data
For enquiries regarding the protection of personal data, please contact us at [email protected].
We process data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Act No. 18/2018 Coll. We only process data that we genuinely need for the service to function.
2. What data do we process and why?
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google account ID, email address, name, profile photo address | account registration and management | performance of the contract | until the account is closed |
| Saved calendars (name, waste collection rules, note, logo) | provision of services | performance of the contract | until the calendar or account is deleted |
| Subscription and payment details (package, period, amount, invoice ID), billing address | payments and accounting | performance of a contract, legal obligation | 10 years (accounting regulations) |
| Record of consent to the terms and conditions and to the sending of emails (exact wording, version, language, time, IP address, browser) | proof of consent (Article 7(1) of the GDPR) | legitimate interest | until the account is closed |
| Consent to marketing emails | newsletter | consent (you can withdraw this at any time in your settings) | until further notice |
| Technical logs (IP address, browser, time of request) | safety and operations | legitimate interest | a maximum of 30 days |
We do not process payment card details — payments are processed directly by Stripe.
Traffic measurement and advertising. We measure traffic using Google Analytics 4. We display Google AdSense adverts on the public calendar pages in the free package (never in embedded widgets, in PDFs or in paid packages). We only use analytics and advertising cookies, as well as personalised advertising, with your consent (legal basis: consent), which you grant and may withdraw at any time via the consent bar (the ‘Privacy Settings’ link on the calendar page). Without your consent, Google Analytics only sends anonymous signals without cookies, and adverts are not personalised. In doing so, Google processes your IP address, device identifiers and visit data; further details can be found in Google’s privacy policy.
3. To whom we disclose data
We only pass on data to intermediaries without whom the service cannot function:
- Websupport s. r. o. (Slovakia) — hosting and databases,
- Cloudflare, Inc. — web delivery and protection against attacks,
- Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd. — logging in with a Google account, website analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense; in the case of advertising, Google is a separate data controller),
- Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. and Sold through Link, LLC (Link) — payment processing, invoicing and VAT (Link acts as the payment service provider and independent data processor for payments made by sellers),
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) — sending service emails.
Some of them may also process data outside the EU (in the USA); in such cases, this is done on the basis of a European Commission adequacy decision (the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell data. We do not use account data (email, calendars) for advertising purposes.
4. Public calendars
The saved calendar is accessible to anyone who knows its address, and, once added to a mobile phone, to calendar apps as well. The calendar does not contain your name or email address unless you enter them yourself in the title or notes.
5. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it rectified, erased or restricted, the right to data portability, the right to object and the right to withdraw your consent. You can delete your account, including all calendars, in the settings; we will process other requests sent to [email protected] within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Slovakia, this is the Slovak Data Protection Authority (dataprotection.gov.sk).
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies without consent, and analytical and advertising cookies only with consent. Further details can be found in our cookie policy.
Visitor statistics
To measure traffic we use our own anonymous statistics without cookies. When a page is viewed we record its address, where you came from (domain only), country, device type and language. To tell visitors apart we create a one-way code from the IP address and browser that changes every day; we do not store the IP address itself. We do not use this data for advertising, do not share it with third parties and delete it after 400 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the service.
Mobile app
The garbage.center app for Android stores your calendars and settings only on your device. Reminders are scheduled by the device itself (local notifications), not by our server. To display the calendar, the app retrieves its data from our server – in doing so, it sends the calendar’s URL or the selected frequency, language and name that you enter; we do not store this data. The app does not use adverts, third-party analytics tools or a login. We measure how often the app is opened and which features are used (e.g. adding a calendar) using our own anonymous statistics, just as we do on the website; nothing is stored on the device for this purpose. When scanning a QR code, the app uses the Google Code Scanner service, which, according to Google, collects technical diagnostic data (information about the device and the app, error codes), transmits it in encrypted form and does not share it with third parties.
7. Changes
We will notify registered users of any significant changes to these terms and conditions by email or via the service. The original version is in Slovak; in the event of any discrepancy, the Slovak version shall prevail.
